What data do we collect automatically and why?
When you visit nContext and you have not otherwise identified yourself (e.g., via registration with an nContext Site), our web server automatically recognizes your domain name, but not your e-mail address. We collect the domain name and monitor general site use and traffic patterns to improve our web site and the products and services we offer. nContext uses web server logs to collect data for metric purposes. Examples of the types of data collected on the logs are IP addresses, referral pages, date and time of Site access, and Site visited. We may use collected data to customize the content and/or layout of our page for each individual visitor.
Do we collect personal information?
In some cases, nContext requests personally identifiable information from you in order to satisfy the underlying transaction or purpose of your accessing our website. We receive and store any information you enter on our website or give to us in any other way. For example, you provide information when you contact us through our website form; communicate with us by phone, email or otherwise; complete a questionnaire; participate in blog discussions; or sign up for email alerts. Examples of personally identifiable information include names, e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, and the like. Please note that we do not consider aggregated information, from which personally identifiable information has been removed, to be private.
If you register on an nContext site, how will your information be used and secured?
We use information collected about you in accordance with legal bases to comply with our legal obligations, to protect the rights, property, or safety of nContext employees, customers and other third parties.
Additionally, we may use information you share to market and promote products or services that we believe may be of interest to you. If you prefer that we do not use your data for marketing purposes, you are always free to notify us through relevant ‘unsubscribe’ options or contact us directly. Your information may also be used to improve your user experience.
We take all reasonable measures to protect your personal data and ensure it is only disclosed where there is a legitimate business or legal reason to do so. While we take our duty to protect your personal data very seriously, please remember that any transmission of data is at your own risk.
Do we share the information we receive?
Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share customer information only as described below and with subsidiaries and affiliates that are subject to this Privacy Notice or follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Notice.
Third-Party Service Providers: We use other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include sending email, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing search results and links (including paid listings and links), and providing customer service. Examples of these third parties may include Facebook, AdRoll, Google Ads, or others. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.
Business Transfers: As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy subsidiaries or business units. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets but remains subject to the promises made in any pre-existing Privacy Notice (unless, of course, the customer consents otherwise). Also, in event that nContext or substantially all of its assets are acquired, customer information will of course be one of the transferred assets.
Consent: Other than as described above, you will receive notice when information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
Is nContext GDPR-compliant?
nContext complies with the European Union’s (EU) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal data from EU member countries and all other applicable data privacy laws. nContext adheres to the requirements of notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access and enforcement.
At any time, you may object to the processing of your personal data except where otherwise permitted by law. If you wish to exercise your rights under the GDPR or other applicable data privacy laws you should feel free to email, call, or write to us.
What about children’s privacy?
nContext asks children under 18 not to transmit any information to the Site. nContext welcomes the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 to use the Site and provide any information, service, or product gained for the Site for their child.
In some instances, we use tracking scripts or “tracers” that recognize a unique identifier from a cookie placed on your hard drive by another website. These are used by nContext solely to gauge the success of our own advertising. We do not use tracers to gather information on your use of internet unrelated to nContext. Please note that nContext does not use tracers to identify your personal information, and you remain anonymous unless and until you choose to register.
What if data is transmitted internationally?
If you are one of our international guests, we realize that you may want to know whether your personal information will be transferred out of your country of origin. Please be aware that when you register on an nContext Site, your personal data may be transferred to computers in the United States in order to process your request.
What about external links?
For the convenience of our Site visitors, nContext may provide links to third party websites that are external to nContext. These websites are not operated or controlled by nContext, and nContext is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external web sites.
